My cousin made this lil Christmas Tree treat for our family. Actually, she made two. One for my parents and one for J & I. Not only was it a sight to behold, but it is such a pleasure to eat…and I think something fun to create.

1 1/2 c. Crisco shortening2 lb. sifted confectioners’ sugar1/2 c. water1-1 1/2 tsp. clear vanilla or desired flavoringAdd desired food coloring to decorate
Cream shortening, sift sugar over the shortening, add scant 1/2 cup of water and flavoring. Mix on low speed to prevent air bubbles from forming. Cover bowl with damp towel and use as desired. This is my own personal recipe and I have found it enough to ice and decorate an average 1 mix size cake.
Directions:
For this tree my cousin used a variety of star shaped cookie cutters. I’ve also seen these trees made with different sized circular shaped cookie cutters as well. Once your cookies have been cut and baked, remove from oven and frost the stars (once they’ve cooled) with color of your choosing. Build the tree from the bottom up, stacking frosted cookies one-a-top the other.
With decorative frosting tips, make white icicles (my cousin did white leaves) on the pointed edges of the tree. This is where you can use your creative license to decorate with whatever you have on hand.
Enjoy!
These make great projects to do with kids (if you have them) or friends/family.
