1 lb. bulk pork sausage1/2 lb. deli sliced ham, chopped2 eggs beaten2 cups each shredded deli Colby Jack Cheese & shredded deli Cheddar Cheese2 tbsp. grated Parmesan Cheese2 tsp. parsley flakes2 tsp. dried basil leaves2 (8-oz.) pkgs. refrigerated crescent rolls1 egg, beaten
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. In large skillet cook sausage until brown. Drain fat.
2. In large bowl combine ham, 2 eggs, Colby Jack cheese, Cheddar cheese, Parmesan, parsley, basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir in cooked sausage.
3. On lightly floured surface press each package of crescent rolls into an 11x8-inch rectangle. Top each with half of sausage mixture. Roll up, starting from a long side, jelly-roll style. Pinch seam and ends to seal. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into 1-inch slices.
The Pajama Chef’s Notes: This recipe I snagged from a free recipe card in Wal*Mart. This was a ‘First Attempt’ so yeah…it’s not too pretty. But, it was very tasty. ;)
Also, J and I cut the recipe in half because there’s only two of us to eat it and it was more than enough. Also, we used cinnamon deli ham we found and other cheeses we had on hand. There’s nothing better than taking a recipe and mixing it up to fit you and your family’s taste.
Happy Nomming!
