Thanks to crimsonmuse for inviting me.
This is somewhat of a tradition in my family for the Holidays. First, my mom and sisters would make them.
I now make them here. My wife once brought them to her office, and they were such a hit, everyone asks about them each year. So, I make pralines for her coworkers.
Mama Guilt’s Pralines
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Stick Butter
1 Cup Milk
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
4 Cups Pecans
1. Combine everything but the nuts in a saucepan.
2. Heat and stir until it reaches “soft ball” stage on a candy thermometer (234°)
3. Add Pecans and stir. It should be a slightly thick consistency.
4. Spoon onto wax paper
